The Trident Trail Races
The Trident Trail Races are held at Jupiter Ridge Natural Area in Jupiter, Florida, on a course of ancient sugar sand dunes and coastal scrub. The venue includes the highest natural point in Palm Beach County and a gently rolling landscape of sandy ridges and native vegetation. The course surface is primarily soft sand with repeated short climbs and descents.
Multiple race options run on a 3.3 mile Trident loop and include a range of distances and formats:
- 13.2 miles Nooner Half Marathon (four 3.3 mile loops)
- 13.2 miles Twilight Trident night half marathon
- 80 miles Immolation 80 miler using repeated 3.3 mile loops with elimination rounds
- 102 miles Ciento Dos, thirty-one Trident loops
- 5k series progressive 3.3 mile loops up to 33 miles (5kULTRAMARATHON)
Some events require qualifying races or verifiable efforts; examples include long trail or road races, timed efforts, and specified distance or time standards. Aid stations are stocked with ice, water, chilled fruit, and fuel. Medical staff are present on site. Crews are permitted for certain races and crew areas are available near the start. Finishers receive event swag such as medals, shirts, and awards, and official results are recorded and posted after the event. The races are organized by Sand Spur Ultra.
