The Trident Trail Races is an annual trail running event held in late July at the Jupiter Ridge Natural Area in Jupiter, Florida. The event features multiple race distances with a focus on running on ancient sugar sand dunes during a hot and humid time of year.
Distances & Formats
The 2026 event offers five different race formats:
- Ciento Dos: A 102-mile ultramarathon with a 36-hour time limit.
- Immolation: A 24-hour / 80-mile elimination race where runners must complete one loop per hour.
- The Nooner: A half marathon consisting of four 3.3-mile loops.
- A Series of Unfortunate 5Ks: A race where runners can complete between 1 and 10 loops (from 5k to 33 miles) within a 10-hour window.
- The Twilight Trident: A night half marathon with a later start time.
Course & Location
The race takes place at Jupiter Ridge Natural Area, a protected coastal scrub habitat featuring ancient sand dunes. The terrain consists of soft sand and gentle rollers, with the highest point being approximately 45 feet above sea level. The course is a 3.3-mile out-and-back loop that runners repeat. The event emphasizes the challenging conditions of heat, humidity, and sandy terrain.
Event Details
The Ciento Dos and Immolation races have qualifying requirements based on previous race finishes. The event includes aid stations with ice, water, and food. Finishers receive medals and other items.
