The Trident Trail Races : Jupiter Ridge Natural Area, Jupiter FL
The Trident Trail Races are a set of trail events held on the ancient sugar sand dunes of Jupiter Ridge Natural Area in Palm Beach County, Florida. The venue features soft sand, rolling dunes and short steep climbs, with the highest natural point in the county near 44 feet above sea level. Course terrain is entirely on dunes and offers substantial elevation gain across race distances.
Event formats offered in 2026 include multiple loop-based and timed challenges:
- 13.2 miles
- 102 miles
- 80 miles
- 3.3-mile loops up to 33 miles
- 13.2 miles (night half)
Key race formats and rules: the half marathon is four 3.3-mile loops with a strict four hour cutoff. The 24-hour event requires completing one 3.3-mile loop per hour for 24 hours with scheduled elimination rounds; a phoenix coin system gives certain runners a single second chance under specific circumstances. The 102-mile event allows 36 hours to complete 31 loops; it does not use an hourly loop format and offers only buckle or DNF outcomes. The 5k series lets runners stop at several official finish distances or continue up to a 33-mile 10-loop finish, with rules about commitment after starting certain loops.
Qualifying criteria apply to some races and require verified prior efforts within an 18 month window. Aid stations will be supplied with ice, water, chilled fruit and other provisions. A registered refund and deferral policy is provided with deadlines and options for converting refunds to a donation supporting Palm Beach County Natural Areas.
