Hungryland Trail Races
West Palm Beach, United States • 21 Mar 2026
Event
Hungryland is an ultrarunning event held in Hungryland Slough Natural Area near West Palm Beach, FL. The race uses a single 14.3-mile loop that covers much of the roughly 3,000-acre site. Two timed options are offered: a 6-hour Runner Gunner (one loop goal) and a 33-hour Jogger Slogger (complete as many loops as desired, minimum one). Entrant capacity is limited to 100 due to the site's environmental sensitivity.
Course and support
The loop is a “pseudo iron cross” true loop that travels management roads and paths through wetlands, prairies, swamps, hammocks, and pine flatwoods. Surfaces are primarily double-track, dirt roads, hard-packed grass, and softer runnable paths. The course is described as flat with no significant elevation gain. Race support includes manned aid at the start/finish and a main station near mile 6.75, plus additional water/ice/fuel stations and unmanned self-serve stations; exact numbers, locations, and contents may change based on conditions. Pacers are allowed beginning at dusk, and runners may set up a small base camp near the start/finish.
Rules and policies
Only finished loops count in the 33-hour race; a DNF on an in-progress loop can nullify completed loops. The course and aid locations are subject to change for safety or accessibility. No qualifying races are required. Refunds are offered through November 1, 2024 (minus the service fee); after that date no refunds are issued. The natural area prohibits firearms, vegetation removal, smoking, littering, feeding or harassing wildlife, bicycles, horses, alcohol, and dogs.
