Hungryland Trail Races
West Palm Beach, United States • 21 Mar 2026
Event details
Hungryland takes place March 21, 2026 in the Hungryland Slough Natural Area near West Palm Beach, Florida. The event offers two timed options: the 6-Hour Runner Gunner, in which participants must complete the loop within six hours, and the 33-Hour Jogger Slogger, in which participants may run as many loops as they choose within 33 hours (minimum one loop). Entry is limited for environmental reasons, with an entrant capacity of 100. If a runner begins a loop and does not finish it, the runner is recorded as DNF and completed loops may not be credited. Completing seven loops earns a 100 mile buckle; runners may attempt more than seven loops.
Course, support and rules
The course is a clockwise pseudo iron-cross loop of 14.3 miles that uses management roads and paths across the 3,004-acre site. Terrain includes pine flatwoods, prairies, swamps, hammocks, marshes, and other native south Florida ecosystems. The surface is primarily double-track with dirt roads, hard-packed grassy sections, and softer runnable paths near wetlands. The course is flat overall but conditions can vary; organizers may reroute the course if sections become impassable.
Aid and support include two manned aid stations (start/finish and about 7 miles) and unmanned fluid/fuel stations near miles 4 and 11, plus additional water/ice/fuel points. Pacers are allowed beginning at dusk through the night. The event enforces site rules: no firearms, no vegetation removal, no smoking, no littering, no feeding wildlife, no bicycles, no horses, no alcohol, and no pets; alligators are present on the site. Refunds were available through November 1, 2024 minus fees; transfers and deferrals are subject to the event policy. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
