Hungryland Trail Races

West Palm Beach, United States • 21 Mar 2026

Event overview

Hungryland is an ultra running event held in Hungryland Slough Natural Area near West Palm Beach, FL. The course uses a single 14.3 mile loop that was redesigned in 2024 into a pseudo iron cross and is run clockwise. Entrant capacity is limited to 100 due to the site’s environmental sensitivity. Two timed race options are offered: a 6-hour Runner Gunner and a 33-hour Jogger Slogger. Completing seven loops earns a 100 mile buckle; placement is by number of finished loops. The course is flat.

Course, aid and support

The loop covers the site’s management roads and footpaths through wetlands, prairies, swamps, hammocks, and pine flatwoods. Surfaces are primarily double-track, with dirt roads, hard-packed grassy areas, and softer runnable paths near wetlands. Weather and site conditions are variable; the course and aid station locations may be rerouted shortly before the event if sections become impassable. Planned aid and support include a full manned start/finish aid station (hot food provided after dusk), a full aid station near mile 6.75, and additional water/ice/fuel stations around miles 3, 4, 8, and 11. Unmanned self-serve stations are also planned between manned stations. Pacers are allowed beginning at dusk and through the night.

Rules and policies

The event prohibits firearms, removal of vegetation, smoking, littering, feeding wildlife, bicycles, horses, alcohol, and dogs. Refunds are available in full, minus the registration platform fee, through November 1, 2024; no mass refunds will be issued if the event is canceled and registrations will be deferred to a new date. Registration closes March 18, 2026. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
