Jupiter Ridge Sand Spur : Christmas Edition 2026
Jupiter Ridge Sand Spur is a trail running event held December 26, 2026 in Jupiter, Florida, at Jupiter Ridge Natural Area. The 2026 edition is themed for the holidays and marks the event's tenth year.
Distances offered:
- 50K 7 loops on a ~4.5 mile loop, approximately 1,400 feet elevation gain
- 30K (Silent Night) 4 loops on the same loop, nighttime event with a longer cutoff
- Half Marathon 3 loops on the loop, approximately 600 feet of elevation change
The course uses multiple permitted trails through coastal scrub and ancient sand dunes, including named dune features and views of the Intracoastal Waterway. Sand depth varies across the loop; firmer sections alternate with deeper sand and steeper dune climbs. Participants summit the highest natural points in Palm Beach County multiple times per loop.
Field size is limited to 80 entrants to reduce environmental impact. Jupiter Ridge Natural Area is a 270 acre remnant of Florida Scrub habitat, home to many plant and animal species of conservation concern and ancient dune formations. Organizers work with Palm Beach County Environmental Resources Management and direct proceeds and surplus to the county's Natural Areas program.
On-course support includes a start/finish aid station, a second station roughly 2.25 miles into the loop, and a drop-bag area with one small labeled bag accessible after each loop. The event is professionally chip timed. The refund and transfer policy includes a full refund minus the registration platform fee through October 1, 2026, partial refunds during October and November, and race credit or transfer options after December 1, 2026.
