Course, environment, and logistics

The course runs on the sand dunes and rolling scrub of Jupiter Ridge Natural Area, an approximately 270 acre site of Florida Coastal Scrub habitat and some of the oldest sand dunes in the state. The Lunacy 30k includes about 1,000 feet of climbing for its loops. The 50k totals about 2,000 feet of gain, and the 50 miler combines those distances to about 3,000 feet of gain. The half marathon has about 800 feet of gain.

Aid and support include two aid stations - one at the start/finish and one near 2.25 miles into the loop - so runners are never more than 2.25 miles from aid. A single labeled drop bag is allowed at start/finish and is accessible after each loop. The race coordinates with Palm Beach County Natural Areas management to limit impact on the site.
