Jupiter Ridge Sand Spur, December 26, 2026
Jupiter Ridge Sand Spur is a looped trail event held at Jupiter Ridge Natural Area in Jupiter, Florida. The race uses a roughly 4.5 mile loop that follows ancient coastal dunes and scrub habitat preserved by Palm Beach County. The natural area covers about 270 acres and supports dozens of plant and animal species, including species considered threatened, rare, or of special concern.
Distances offered
- 50K: 7 loops on ~4.5 mile course, ~1,400 feet gain
- Half Marathon: 3 loops on same course, ~600 feet elevation change
The course includes deep sand sections, dune summits including a dune rising 49 feet above sea level, and firmer stretches intended to provide occasional respite. Access on course includes two aid stations, one at the start and one near the 2.25 mile mark, so runners are never more than 2.25 miles from aid. A drop bag zone is available at the start/finish; one small labeled duffle or tote or small cooler is permitted and is accessible after each loop.
Entrants are capped at 80 to limit environmental impact. Timing is conducted with professional chip timing. The event maintains a refund and transfer policy that allows full refund minus the registration platform fee until October 1, 2026, partial refunds in October and November as described by the organizer, and race credit or transfers thereafter.
