Race details

The course begins on a gentle track, then climbs steeply to a ridge, follows the skyline, and finishes with a very steep descent back across a bridge to the start field. Reported course measurements vary:

  • 1.9 km / 1.2 miles, 193 m climb
  • 2.25 km / 1.4 miles, 170 m climb

Entry is on the day only; pre-entry is not available. Adult entry fee is £5 on the day. Junior races are held for U9, U12, U14 and U17 age groups; junior entry is £2. Senior entry minimum age is 17; junior minimum age on the day is 6. Age categories are determined by age on 1 May. Teams are not allowed. The location includes a grid reference and a What Three Words location for navigation. Parking field access is via the far side of the bridge, over the cattle grid, as directed.
