Hawkswick Dash
The Hawkswick Dash is a fell race listed by the British Open Fell Runners Association (BOFRA) that takes place at Hawkswick in Littondale. The route begins on a gentle track, includes a steep climb to the ridge, follows the skyline on the return and finishes after a very steep descent and a crossing of the bridge back to the start field.
The course distance is about 1.40 miles (2.25 km) with approximately 600 feet (170 meters) of climb. The event is a BOFRA championship counter and provides separate senior and junior routes. Age categories are Under 9, Under 12, Under 14, Under 17 and Seniors.
Location details are given as Outgang Lane, Hawkswick, Littondale, off the B6160 between Grassington and Arncliffe, BD23 5QA. When approaching, the route to the parking field requires turning off the road on the far side of the bridge, over the cattle grid, to access the parking field from the correct direction. Car parking is charged at £3 and competitors are asked to bring the correct change.
