Hawkswick Dash

The Hawkswick Dash is a fell run taking place in the Littondale area. The course covers 1.4 miles (2.25 km) with 600 feet (170 meters) of ascent. The race is part of the British Open Fell Runners Association (BOFRA) Championship.

The Route

The route starts on a gentle track before a steep climb to a ridge. Runners then return along the skyline, followed by a very steep descent. The finish is back across a bridge to the start field.

Location & Parking

The event is located on Outgang Lane in Hawkswick, off the B6160 between Grassington and Arncliffe. Postcode BD23 5QA. Car parking is available for a fee of £3; participants are asked to bring the exact change. Drivers are instructed to turn off the road on the far side of a bridge, over a cattle grid, to access the parking field from the correct direction.

Two route options across the Yorkshire Dales from Cracoe Village Hall for walkers and runners, with staffed checkpoints and a finish meal. Entries are limited to 125 and a waiting list operates when the event fills.
