Swinner Swagger is an off-road running event held at Usha Gap Campsite in Muker. The race route is a loop of about 15.5–16 km (roughly 9.6–10 miles). Entry is limited to runners aged 16 or older and the event has a maximum of 100 entrants. Entry fees are shown as £22 for affiliated runners and £24 for unaffiliated runners; the price includes a £1 donation to the National Park.

Course and logistics

The route runs from meadows north of Muker through the Hartlakes valley to Kisdon Force near Keld, crosses a footbridge, passes Crackpot Hall, climbs Swinner Gill, descends Gunnerside Gill toward Ivelet, then follows the Pennine Way along the River Swale and finishes near the Rampsholme footbridge. Surfaces include grassy paths, shooting track and short road sections; trail shoes are recommended. The course is marked with orange barrier tape, pin flags and arrow signs, with marshals at critical turns. GPX and a PDF map are available for download.

Aid stations supply water, Active Root, sweet and savoury foods and some electrolyte drinks, but cups are not provided. Post-race refreshments include a hot drink, vegetable soup and a roll. Car parking is in a field adjacent to the campsite. Mandatory kit includes taped seam waterproof jacket and trousers, hat or buff, gloves, emergency blanket or bivvy, a cup or soft flask, at least 500 ml water and a fully charged mobile phone; kit checks will be carried out and failure to carry mandatory items may lead to disqualification.
