Blacksheep 3 and 6 Hour Challenge

Masham, United Kingdom • 5 Jul 2026

Event

Its Grim Up North Running operates the Blacksheep 3 and 6 Hour Challenge in Masham, on the edge of the North Yorkshire Dales. The event offers two timed options:

  • 3 Hour Challenge
  • 6 Hour Challenge

Entrants run repeated loops for the chosen time window and may stop whenever they wish by ringing a bell. Finishers receive a bespoke medal and food items including a beer and a sausage sandwich, with alcohol-free and vegetarian options noted. Entry fees on the page range from about £24 to £38 depending on the option.

Course and logistics

The course is a looped route that combines trail and road sections and includes stiles and one steady climb; several reports describe each lap as around 3.3 miles. The route is marshalled and signed, with feed and drink stations roughly every 3 miles. Organisers provide downloadable GPX files and note that not every junction will be marshalled and that some road crossings may be unmarshalled. A cup-less policy encourages participants to bring a reusable cup or bottle. Toilets are available at the town market square. Parking is available on the field at the start/finish area with a £5 charge that supports local charities. Transfers and deferrals can be managed online. If a runner withdraws, they should inform the nearest marshal. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
