DalesRunner 30

DalesRunner 30 is a circular upland race in Muker on 4 July 2026 covering about 31.7 km (19.7 miles) with nearly 3,000 ft of ascent. The route leaves the meadows north of Muker and follows Hartlakes to Kisdon Force, then uses the Coast to Coast path to Ravenseat where there is a water station. It continues across moorland via Robert’s Seat and Thomas Gill Hill to reach the Tan Hill Inn where an aid station will be situated.

The return follows a section of the Pennine Way back toward Kisdon, then the Coast to Coast route past Crackpot Hall. Runners climb Swinner Gill to the final water station before descending on tracks down Gunnerside Gill to Ivelet and rejoining the Pennine Way along the River Swale to finish near Rampsholme footbridge. Surfaces include grassy trods, slabbed sections, hard packed footpath, shooters track and short road sections; trail shoes are recommended.

The event provides multiple aid stations stocking water, sports nutrition and sweet and savoury food; volunteers will assist with refilling as the organisers do not supply cups. Mandatory kit is required and may be checked; this includes taped seam waterproof jacket and trousers, hat or buff, gloves, emergency blanket or bivvy bag, a cup or soft flask, at least 500 ml of water and a fully charged mobile phone. Parking and race HQ are at Usha Gap Campsite and GPX and PDF route files are available for download. Entrant limit is 200 and the minimum age to enter is 18.
