Hades Hill Fell Race

Hades Hill is a fell race held on 3 September 2026 in the South/West Pennines near Whitworth, Lancashire. The course covers approximately 8 km (5 miles) with about 360 m of climb and includes a summit at Brown Wardle. The venue is the Red Lion PH, The Square, Whitworth, Lancs., OL12 8PY (grid reference SD885177).

Entry is available both before the event and on the day. Pre-entry fees are £6 for members and £8 for non-members; on-the-day fees are £7 for members and £9 for non-members. The event is for adults only; minimum age is 18 and there are no junior races.

Teams are permitted, with the first three runners to count for male and female teams. The race holds a Permit and associated UK Athletics insurance from the FRA. Organisers require full body cover in line with FRA kit, a head torch, and apply a cut-off at the summit of Brown Wardle. The event was established in 1968 in aid of Rossendale and Pendle Mountain Rescue Team.
