Event

Froggy Mountain Adventures organizes races near Galax, VA on private property. The event offers the following distances:

Finishers receive a finisher buckle. Later registrants will have buckles mailed after the race. Shirts are available; participants must provide a shirt size to the organizer.

Course and logistics

The course is a 1 mile loop with approximately 500 feet of vertical gain per loop. Aid is available at the start/finish area on each loop, and hot food is served throughout the event. The event uses a 60 hour cutoff. Facilities include portable toilets, a hot outdoor shower, and limited tent and car camping. Leashed pets are allowed. Run scenic but rugged trails around Stone Mountain in Roaring Gap, NC with 50K, 25K and 8 Miler options. The 50K features a carryable Protection Stone and every finisher earns a unique handcrafted pottery medal.

Run the Froggy Mountain Warrior 100 near Galax VA this February in a winter group run of ten 10 mile loops with roughly 15,000 feet of climb. This low key, mostly self supported fundraiser for veterans includes a keepsake buckle.

Run flat dirt trails along the New River and Chestnut Creek in New River Trail State Park, with distances from 10K to 100k and a buckle for 100k finishers. Out and back courses have aid stations; this is a cupless event so bring a bottle.

Tackle the Froggy Mountain Sweet Sixteen 50K in Galax Virginia, a short loop course with about 500 ft vertical gain per mile and a 16 hour limit. Aid stations about every mile offer hot meals and there is free camping for runners and crew.

Run the 11th Grayson Highlands Trail Races at Grayson Highlands State Park near Mouth of Wilson VA on scenic mountain trails where wild ponies roam. Choose from 8 to 50 miles, with aid stations, medals and postrace food.

Run the scenic New River Trail in Max Meadows, VA with 100 mile and 50 mile options along mostly flat rails to trails riverside terrain. Expect river views, long trestles, camping, local food and a buckle for 100 mile finishers.
