The route includes an ascent of the 300 stairs and returns to an aid station to complete the loop. Approximate elevation gain is 1,530 ft per loop. Trails are marked with red ribbons and yellow arrows. Expected trail conditions include ice, fog, and mud.

There are five aid stations: two manned and three unmanned. Each aid station holds a Stone Token. Food items listed include pickles, bacon, candy, cereal, and fruit. Drinks listed include water, Tailwind, and soda. First aid is available at aid stations.

For the 50K only, participants receive a Protection Stone to carry and must collect six stones located at aid stations. An optional handcrafted Blood Book is available to house the stones and a finisher medal. Each finisher receives a handmade pottery medal. Results will be posted on UltraSignup and photos are expected about one week after the race. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
