The courses use Stone Mountain State Park trails and sections of the Mountain-to-Sea Trail. The organizer describes the 50K as following park trails with a possible 30-mile loop and point-to-point sections. Trail surfaces include rock sheets, gravel, roots, stairs, and areas that can be slick or icy. Flagging will use red ribbon and yellow arrows. Reported elevation gain per loop is 1,530 feet.

There will be four aid stations on the route, two of which will be unmanned. Aid station supplies include basic food items (for example pickles, cereal, pretzels, candy, fruit, bacon) and hydration (water, Tailwind, and sodas); first aid will be available. Runners must wear visible bibs on the front. Trekking poles are allowed. The event has a 10-hour cutoff. Medals are handmade pottery by BlueGill Pottery. The event describes collectible stones and a handcrafted "Blood Book" used to keep stones and the final medal. No dogs or strollers are allowed on course unless an exception is made.
