Stone Mountain Massacre

The Stone Mountain Massacre takes place on February 6, 2027, in Roaring Gap, North Carolina. It is presented by Dirty Wolf Racing.

The event offers three race distances: 50K, 25K, and 8 Miler. The course is a looped trail. It begins near the Stone Mountain Visitor Center and uses the Bypass Trail, Stone Mountain Loop, Wolf Creek, and the Mountain-to-Sea Trail. The route includes an ascent known as the 300 Stairs of Judgment. The 50K distance involves an elevation gain of approximately 1,530 feet per loop. The trails are marked with red ribbons and yellow arrows. Participants can expect natural trail conditions.

Participants in the 50K distance receive a Protection Stone at the start. They must collect six different stone tokens from aid stations along the course. The stones are Onyx, Emerald, Ruby, Sapphire, and Diamond.

There are five aid stations; two are staffed and three are unmanned. They provide food items like pickles, bacon, candy, cereal, and fruit, and drinks such as water, Tailwind, and soda. First aid is available. The time limit to finish is 10 hours.

Finishers receive a one-of-a-kind, handcrafted pottery medal. Participants in the 50K can optionally purchase a "Blood Book" to hold their collected stones and medal.

Results are posted on UltraSignup.com. Race photos are made available approximately one week after the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
