The Five Peaks Running Festival is a multi-distance trail running event in the Adelaide Hills on the traditional lands of the Kaurna people. The event date is Sunday 19 April 2026. Distances offered include:

The full route starts in Athelstone (Foxfield Oval) and finishes at the Main Oval, Belair National Park. Other start locations are Cleland Conservation Park (Long Ridge Track), Mt Barker Road, and McElligott’s Quarry. The course follows much of the Yurrebilla Trail with diversions such as the Mount Lofty Summit, and passes Black Hill Conservation Park, Morialta Conservation Park, historic ruins and townships. Surfaces include single-track, fire trail, road and sealed sections. The 58 km and 26 km races are UTMB Index races and ITRA National Challenge events; the 58 km distance carries 3 ITRA points and the 26 km carries 1 ITRA point.
Course services and rules
There are multiple drink stations along the course supplying water, fruit (watermelon, bananas), Tailwind Endurance Fuel (mandarin flavour), and a range of snacks; brownies are listed at Mount Lofty Summit and McElligott’s Quarry. A drop-bag area is available for 58 km runners at the Coach Road aid station; drop bags for 58 km and 26 km runners are returned to the finish area. Electronic timing, first aid attendants on course and at the finish, free photography and videography, and parking in Belair National Park are provided.
Mandatory and recommended items include a personal hydration vessel (no single-use cups provided) and a mobile phone; a head torch is required for early starters. Buses transport runners to start lines from designated pick-up points; bus tickets cost $20 and are non-refundable. Cutoff points are strictly enforced at McElligott’s Quarry; runners stopped at cutoffs will be recorded as DNF and provided transport back to the finish.
