Federation Ultra Trail

The Federation Ultra Trail is a multi-distance trail running event in the Murraylands region. Races begin inside Monarto Safari Park before the park opens to the public, and several courses leave the park to follow sections of the Lavender Federation Trail and pass through Kinchina Conservation Park. The finish is at the Murray Bridge riverfront precinct, Sturt Reserve.

Available distances include:

  • 35 km
  • 26 km
  • 10 km
  • 5 km

The longest event follows the Lavender Federation Trail and covers terrain through Kinchina Conservation Park before finishing at Murray Bridge. Aid stations are positioned along the course at Monarto Safari Park, Monarto Sporting Complex, Lavender Trail locations, Kinchina West and Kinchina East. Supplies listed at aid stations include Inifnit hydration mix, water, lollies, fruit, salty chips and some locations offer coke and toilets. Several aid stations also provide bag drop and crew access.

A relay option is available for four-person teams. Three runners start the initial Monarto Safari Park section and hand over timing tags at designated changeover points. Relay sections include an initial 12 km leg, an optional 14 km woodlands loop, and subsequent legs of about 8 km, 12 km and 10 km to the finish. Course details and aid station positions are subject to change. The event page lists an entry limit of 150 for the ultra distance. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
