Federation Ultra Trail

Federation Ultra Trail takes place on August 9, 2026 at the Monarto Safari Park Visitor Centre in Monarto, South Australia. The course uses the southern end of the Lavender Federation Trail and finishes at the riverside trail head at Sturt Reserve in Murray Bridge.

The route includes exclusive access to Monarto Safari Park walking trails, offering glimpses of roaming African animals such as meerkats, giraffe, bison, chimpanzees and rhinos. Proceeds from the event have raised in excess of $35,000, donated to Monarto Safari Park to help protect endangered species.

The inaugural event was held in 2018. In 2019 the Federation Ultra Trail became part of the first S.A. Five 50s Ultra series; that series is now in its seventh year.

The event offers multiple distance options and a team relay. The relay is for teams of up to four and begins with a shared Zoo Loop; subsequent relay legs vary in length and all team members join together for the final approach to the finish.
