Farm Strong Obstacle Course Race : Waid Park

The Farm Strong Obstacle Course Race is a farm work inspired challenge held at Waid Park on August 1, 2026. The course comprises more than 20 obstacles that reflect Franklin County agricultural themes. Several new obstacles for 2026 are noted, including large machinery features and a hay pyramid, alongside returning elements such as farmers ford, hay bale hurdles, a five gallon bucket fill, tire flip, sandbag haul, low crawl with balance block, farmers carry, and tractor climb.

The event was co-designed by the Spartan SGX Coach Team at Ferguson Fitness and Franklin County Parks and Recreation and will proceed rain or shine. Start waves are organized in corral groups of 20 released at two minute intervals, with faster groups released first. Last year’s finish times spanned approximately 28 to 90 minutes. Awards are issued three deep for male and female age and weight specific categories; a Clydesdale category is offered for those competing by weight rather than age with the thresholds Women 150+ lbs and Men 220+ lbs.

The $35 registration fee covers chip timing, a Farm Strong logo t-shirt, and live bluegrass music by Mason Creek. Registrations submitted after July 13 are not guaranteed a shirt. Pre registration closes July 30 and onsite registration carries a $10 increase; onsite payment requires credit or exact cash.

A Farm Strong Kids OCR will run on a shorter, modified course near the main event area; children 12 and under may participate in the individually timed kids event for free. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
