Farm Strong OCR 2026

The Farm Strong OCR is an obstacle course event held at Waid Park in Rocky Mount, Virginia. The course is co-designed by the Spartan SGX Coach Team at Ferguson Fitness and the Franklin County Parks and Recreation department. The event features more than 20 obstacles inspired by farm work and large agricultural machinery.

The course includes a variety of specific challenges such as:

  • Farmers ford
  • Hay bale hustle
  • 5 gallon bucket fill
  • Tire flip
  • Sandbag haul
  • Low crawl
  • Balance block
  • Tractor climb

Participants are released in corral groups of 10 at one-minute intervals. Previous finish times for the course have ranged between 21 and 70 minutes. The event is chip timed and includes awards for male and female participants across age and weight specific categories. A Clydesdale category is available for women over 150 lbs and men over 220 lbs who prefer to compete by weight rather than age group.

The venue at 2150 Sontag Road features live bluegrass music and an onsite food truck during the event. An individually timed Kids OCR for children aged 12 and under takes place on a modified short course near the main event area. The event is held rain or shine.
