Crooked Road 24 Hour Ultra

Event Overview

The Crooked Road 24 Hour Ultra takes place in Rocky Mount, Virginia, at Waid Park. This endurance event is held on a 1.178 mile loop course that is USATF certified. The path consists of a mostly flat, non-paved surface made of crushed cinders. The route winds through the park, follows the Pigg River, and passes various athletic fields.

Participants may choose to run as much or as little as they wish within the designated timeframes. The event features several participation options:

• Solo (Full 24 Hours)
• 2, 3, or 4-Person Relay
• Solo (8 AM-Noon)
• Solo (Noon-Midnight)
• Solo (Midnight-9 AM)

Facilities and Logistics

The organizers provide a central aid station stocked with food, drinks, and supplies. Additionally, there is designated space for participants to set up personal aid stations. Overnight camping is available for those taking part in the event both the night before and during the race. Chip timing is used to track progress.

Awards and Recognition

All participants who complete more than 26.2 miles receive a custom medal. Runners reaching the 100 mile milestone are awarded a belt buckle. Specific awards are also presented for the longest total distance covered by male and female participants, as well as for the highest number of laps completed during specific segments of the event, such as the first four hours, the twelve-hour noon-to-midnight block, and the final eight hours.
