EPOC - Huddersfield Urban MapRun

East Pennine Orienteering Club will hold an urban MapRun event in Greenhead Park, Huddersfield, using the Huddersfield Urban Orienteering Map. Registration and map collection take place in the Community Room in Greenhead Park. The start and finish are adjacent to the Community Room. Parking is available on roads adjacent to the park; enter via gates on Gledholt Road. The Greenhead Park Café next to the Community Room will be open from 9am. Competitors take part at their own risk and are advised to wear clothing suitable for the weather. For safety, competitors must report back to the Community Room on completing their course or retiring.

  • Short 1.8 km
  • Short Park 1.4 km

Under-16s may only run one short course unaccompanied; on all other courses under-16s must be accompanied by an adult. The long and medium courses cross into Huddersfield town centre via pedestrian subways; the ring road must not be crossed except via the pedestrian subway. The short course crosses roads near the park. The map includes artificial barriers outside the park that must not be crossed and are not marked on the ground. Entry is through the online racesignup system with main and late entry periods and associated fees in December. Limited spare maps will be available on the day or the map may be used on a phone via the MapRun app. Results will be published on the EPOC website.
