PieAthlon 2026

The PieAthlon combines a 6 km trail run with pie tasting at three pie stations placed along the route. The event starts and finishes at The Dusty Miller Pub in Longwood, Huddersfield, and follows mainly off-road terrain that includes a feature known as the "bog of doom" and offers views of the surrounding area.

All entrants receive a medal. Prizes are awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd overall, 1st lady, 1st junior and best fancy dress. Fancy dress is encouraged and there will be a prize for the best costume. The event is organised by the 25th Salendine Nook Scout Group in collaboration with The Dusty Miller Pub; the Scout Group took over running the event in 2025.

Practical information supplied for participants notes that parking near the pub is very limited and that it may be preferable to park further away and walk. The 356 bus from Huddersfield bus station runs to the Longwood Terminus across the road from the pub. A bag can be left at the start and will be stored in The Dusty Miller; there are no showering facilities. The route can be muddy so a change of clothes may be needed. Well behaved dogs are welcome but must be under control, and under 18s need parental consent or must be accompanied by an appropriate adult.
