The PieAthlon 2025 is a trail event held on 20 December 2025 that combines a 6 km trail run with pie tasting at three pie stations along the route. The race starts and finishes at The Dusty Miller Pub, 2 Gilead Road, Huddersfield, HD3 4XH. The route is mainly off-road and passes through varied terrain, including the feature called the "bog of doom," and offers views of the scenery around Longwood and the surrounding area. The event has been run for several years and from 2025 is organised by 25th Salendine Nook Scout Group in collaboration with The Dusty Miller.
Entry, rules and prizes
Entries opened on 9 August 2025 and close on 5 December 2025. The entry fee is £20.00 and the event lists 78 participants so far. Minimum age is 14 on the event date; under 18s need parental consent or must be accompanied by an adult. All finishers receive a medal. Prizes are awarded for 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 1st lady, 1st junior and best fancy dress. Fancy dress is encouraged and a prize will be given for best costume.
Logistics and other information
Parking near the start is very limited; limited parking is available on Longwood Edge Road. A bag drop is available at The Dusty Miller; there are no showering facilities. The course can be muddy and dogs are allowed if kept under control, as some fields may contain livestock. Funds raised will be reinvested in the event and in the Scout Group.
