The Cragg Vale Christmas Score Event takes place on Saturday 20th December 2025 at Cragg Vale Church, near the Hinchliffe Arms. The event is a score-format orienteering event with a 90-minute time limit. Entry is by pre-entry only. Entry fees are £10 for adults and £5 for children. The fee includes a map, a bacon or vegan sausage bap, drinks, and prizes.

Format and logistics

Participants navigate using an Ordnance Survey map; a compass is not compulsory. Competitors visit controls of their choice to collect points, with different controls worth different point values. Points are deducted for finishing late, and bonus points are awarded for finishing early. Entries may be as a solo competitor or as a pair. Three-person teams require special registration arrangements. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
