The March Hare's Final Run in Penistone takes place on Sunday, 08 March 2026. It is a 7 hour timed running challenge on a flat, lapped route. Laps are approximately 6.55 miles each. Runners may complete as few or as many laps as they wish within the 7 hour limit. All participants receive a new March Hare medal for 2026 and a goody bag, and chocolate treats are provided. Hot drinks and cake are available during and after the event.

Course and support

The course is off-road / paved and described as flat. A well stocked feed station will be outside the hall and can be accessed after about 2 miles or at the end of the full loop. The race is cupless; participants should bring their own bottle or cup. Race HQ is listed as Penistone Community Centre, Church St, Penistone, Sheffield S36 6AR. The venue offers parking, toilets, and an indoor area for baggage that can be accessed at any time.

Anyone finishing after the 7 hour cut off will be timed up to completion of the last lap completed within the 7 hour deadline. Registration and bib collection take place on the morning of the event. Dogs are not permitted due to permit restrictions.

Transfers and deferrals are permitted only up to 7 days prior to the event, with deferrals limited to events already scheduled at the time of deferral.
