Lets Motor along the Towpath - Rodley

This event runs along the Leeds and Liverpool Canal from Rodley on a largely flat towpath with good underfoot conditions. The course is an out and back trail route, with elevation described as flat apart from the locks.

Distances offered include:

  • 10k
  • 10 miles
  • Half marathon
  • 20 miler
  • Marathon

The course is marshalled and signed. Feed and drink stations are placed approximately every three miles; the event promotes a cup-less approach so runners are asked to bring a reusable cup or bottle. There may be unmarshalled road crossings, and GPX files for each route are available to help with navigation.

Toilets are available at the start location at The Cricket Club, Canal Bank Sports Ground, Moss Bridge Road, Rodley, Leeds. Parking is available at the Cricket Club with a stated fee of £5 payable in cash at registration; on-road parking is also possible around Rodley. Bus services connect Rodley with nearby towns including Leeds, Keighley, Shipley, Bingley and Bradford. Car sharing is suggested as a travel option.

Headphone guidance asks runners to avoid large over ear headphones; bone conducting or single earbud use is preferred. The event is licensed by the Trail Running Association under UKA rules. Finishers receive a bespoke medal and assorted treats. Transfers can be self-served up to seven days before the event, and runners who need to withdraw should inform the nearest marshal.
