Event Overview

Burnsall 12K is a trail race held on Saturday 18 April 2026 in Burnsall Village. It is part of the Due North 10K Trail Race Series and is the first race of a trilogy. The race is supported by The North Face and Sportsshoes.com.

The approx. 11 km route uses the first 10 km of the Burnsall Half Marathon course, with a diversion at Appletreewick that brings runners back to the finish in Burnsall. The race is open to runners aged 17 and over.

Burnsall 12K is run under UK Athletics rules and is licensed by the Trail Running Association (TRA). Dogs are not allowed on the course.

Location, Registration and Facilities

The start and finish are in the riverside car park field in Burnsall Village. With the Red Lion pub in front, runners cross the bridge on the right; the car park field is immediately on the right. Marshals organise parking and direct runners to the registration tent.

Entry fees are £25 for UKA members and £27 for non-UKA members. The course is fully waymarked and includes a drinks station with water, juice, fruit and sweets.

Finishers receive post-race food, a bottle of beer, Due North merchandise and other items from race sponsors. There are male and female toilet blocks in the main car park and another toilet block in a smaller car park across the bridge.

Prizes are given by email to the first three male and female finishers and to first male and female in V40, V50, V60 and V70+ categories.

Two winter races from Great Owl Running on 24 January 2026 at Kirkstall Bridge. A roughly 16 km multi terrain route follows the canal and River Aire while a 10 km out and back runs along the canal.

Take on The Half & Half 10 km on 25 January 2026 at Sowerby Bridge for a split terrain challenge. Rugged muddy trails and obstacles give way to a tarmac finish, entries are limited to 100 and hoodies are available to pre order.
