The Devil o' the Highlands Footrace is a point-to-point trail ultramarathon on Saturday 25 April 2026. The route follows the West Highland Way from Tyndrum to Fort William. The distance is 42 miles (69 km) with a total ascent of 6,500 ft (1,981 m). The event is way-marked so navigation is not required and the surface is approximately 95% trail and 5% road. Key details and rules

  • Four checkpoints: Bridge of Orchy (7 miles), Glencoe Mountain Resort (17 miles), Kinlochleven (27 miles), Lundavra (35 miles). Water is provided at all checkpoints; Glencoe, Kinlochleven and Lundavra also offer Coke. Drop bags are allowed at Glencoe and Kinlochleven.
  • Cutoffs are enforced by race time at checkpoints: 4h 45m (Glencoe), 7h 30m (Kinlochleven), 10h 15m (Lundavra). Runners who miss cutoffs will be timed out.
  • Start-to-finish baggage transport, pre- and post-race buses (extra cost), free showers and hot food at the finish are provided. Parking at the start in Tyndrum is limited; some long-stay permits are available.
  • Entry fee is £100. Minimum age is 20. The event accepts female, male, and nonbinary entries and uses an active gender entry system to balance places.
  • Mandatory kit includes an emergency foil blanket, waterproof jacket with hood and taped seams, waterproof trousers, and a charged mobile phone. Running poles are allowed only after Bridge of Orchy. The use of NSAIDs on race day is prohibited.

Join the Buchlyvie 10k trail on 24 January 2026 in Stirling for a mostly flat out and back on an old railway track, chip timed with great support and post race baking. Limited to 300 runners, fun medals and goodie bags for all.

Run the scenic Ardgartan Trail Race in Arrochar, a rugged loop of about 21 miles and 3500 ft of climbing past forests and waterfalls. Winter conditions and limited spots make mandatory kit and careful planning essential.

Enjoy the Hidden Glen 10K at Monachyle Mhor on April 26, a scenic tarmac to trail run along Loch Doine with some muddy, puddly sections so trail shoes are recommended. A 1K fun run and medals for all make this a great family day out.

Run the Glen Lyon Ultra on 6 June 2026, a scenic 31 mile trail around Loch Lyon and Glen Lochay with about 3,500 ft ascent. Mostly off road with river crossings that may leave your feet wet, this rugged course earns 2 UTMB points.
