Course and logistics
The course surface is described as dirty and rocky single-track and wider track trails. The first roughly 7.8 miles of the course are remote and have no aid or water stations. Loop structure stated for longer distances includes the 100K as four loops, the 50K as two loops, and the 25K as one loop; the 5K follows a modified route. Aid stations provide cold and hot foods, snacks, water, electrolytes, pickle juice, and ice. Drop-bag transport to one aid station is available for the 100K and 50K.
Required gear and policies include a water carrying system (minimum 32 ounces specified for most distances), a 25 lb minimum for the 25K ruck, and phone/headlamp requirements for longer events as listed by the organizer. Participants are asked to follow no-litter and no-course-cutting rules and to respect volunteers.
Services and awards
Participants receive event shirts and finisher medals. Additional awards include first-place awards by gender for each distance, a 50K finisher buckle, a 100K finisher belt buckle, a 25K ruck patch, and a last-place award for the 100K. Camping is not allowed at the ranch; nearby Pedernales Falls State Park is suggested. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
