Course, aid and requirements

The course runs on dirty and rocky single-track and wider trail sections on ranch and state park property. One 15-mile loop has about 1400 ft of elevation gain. Historic average temperatures are listed between 65 and 84 degrees.

Aid stations provide cold and hot foods, snacks, water, electrolytes, pickle juice and ice. The first 7.8 miles of the course are remote and have no aid or water stations. Aid layout includes a main station and smaller water stations placed along the loop. Drop bag transportation to the Coyote Yak aid station is available for 50K and 100K entrants; participants must retrieve their bags at that aid station after the race.

Mandatory gear includes a water-carrying system (32-ounce minimum for all except the 10K), a 25 lb minimum for the 25K ruck, and phone and headlamp requirements for the longer distances. A 21-hour cutoff applies to all distances. Volunteers are used for setup, course marking and race operations. Camping is not allowed at the ranch; nearby state park camping is available.
