Desert Wolf is a trail and ultra run held at Flat Creek Crossing Ranch with parts of the course using Pedernales Falls State Park. Distances offered include:

The course runs on dirty and rocky singletrack and wider trail sections. A 15 mile loop has about 1,400 feet of elevation gain. The 100K is held as four loops, the 50K as two loops, and the 25K as a single loop; shorter events use a single loop or a modified route. The first 7.8 miles of the course are remote and have no aid or water stations; this section is described as the most shaded part of the course.

Aid stations provide cold and hot foods, snacks, water, electrolytes, pickle juice, and ice. Drop bag transport to the Coyote Yak aid station is available for 100K and 50K entrants and must be picked up after the race. Pacers are permitted on the final two loops of the 100K and the final loop of the 50K.

Required gear and rules include a water carrying system (32 ounce minimum for all except the 10K), a 25 pound minimum for the 25K RUCK with ruck sack or vest, phone requirement for the 50K, and phone plus headlamp requirements for the 100K. The event has a 21 hour race cutoff. No dogs or on site camping are allowed at the ranch; Pedernales Falls State Park is nearby for camping and local lodging options are available about 10 to 15 minutes from the start.
