Desert Wolf - Austin TX Trail & Ultra Run
Desert Wolf is a trail and ultra running event held at Flat Creek Crossing Ranch with course sections through Pedernales Falls State Park near Johnson City, Texas. The event date is May 1, 2027. Surface conditions include dirty and rocky singletrack and wider trail sections. A typical loop measures about 15 miles and records approximately 1400 ft of elevation gain.

Course format and logistics: the 100K is four loops, the 50K is two loops, 25K and 10K are single loops, and the 5K uses a modified route. Aid stations provide cold and hot foods, snacks, water, electrolytes, pickle juice and ice; specific aid locations are posted per loop. The first 7.8 miles of the course are remote and have no aid or water stations but are noted as the most shaded section.
Mandatory and recommended gear: a water carrying system is required for all events with a 32-ounce minimum except the 10K; the 25K ruck requires a minimum 25 lb load in a ruck sack or vest. Phones are required for the 50K and 100K and headlamps are required for the 100K. Drop bag transport to the Coyote Yak aid station is available for 50K and 100K runners; participants must collect their drop bags after the race.
Additional notes: the ranch does not allow dogs and camping is not allowed on site. Pedernales Falls State Park is nearby for camping.
