Salmagundi Trail Race
Salmagundi Trail Race takes place on November 7, 2026, at Hamilton Pool Road in Dripping Springs, Texas, with views of the Pedernales River. The course combines double track, single track, and jeep trail sections and passes several overlooks.
Offered distances include:
- 5K : 180 feet elevation gain, no aid stations
- 10K : 270 feet elevation gain
- 13.1 miles : 700 feet elevation gain
- 26.2 miles : two laps of the 13.1 route, 1400 feet elevation gain
- 50K : two 13.1 laps plus the 10K, 1670 feet elevation gain
Amenities and logistics noted by the organizer include port-o-toilets and park restrooms. Day use at the park is $5 per person cash only; participant park entry is covered by the event. Tent camping is not allowed. Ranch rules require pets to remain on leash.
A ruck division is offered with mandatory weight requirements: participants under 150 pounds must carry 20 pounds, those over 150 pounds must carry 30 pounds. Ruck weigh ins occur before the start and at the finish. Weight must be carried in a ruck or vest, may not be consumable or wearable items, and trekking poles are not permitted.
Awards recognize overall top three finishers male and female, masters (50+) first place, and 5K ruck first place overall male and female. All finishers receive a finisher award; custom awards are supplied by Southern Forge and Mill. The race is part of the Texas Trail Championship and lists Austin Sunshine Camps as its beneficiary.
