Event overview
The Coyote Trail Run takes place Saturday, April 18, 2026, at Cleburne State Park in Cleburne, Texas. The event offers multiple race distances and uses a looped trail format with all races starting and finishing at the same location. Parking will be near the park entrance and participants must use a shuttle to reach the start/finish area. Runners must purchase a park day pass, present an annual park pass, or have camping reservations to enter the park.
Course and race details
The main loop is an 8.33 mile trail with about 800 to 1,000 feet of elevation gain per loop and includes steep climbs and technical terrain. Loop counts by distance:
- 50 miles: six loops
- 50K: four loops
- 25K: two loops
- 8 miles: one loop
- 4 miles: one modified loop
This is a cupless race; all runners must carry a hydration device such as a water bottle or hydration bladder. Aid stations are staffed by volunteers and provide water, electrolyte drink, snacks, and one aid station per loop; multiple-loop runners may also use the start/finish aid station. Pacers are allowed only for 50-mile runners on the last loop.
Awards and apparel: top overall and masters prizes are awarded for specified distances, all finishers receive a medal, and 25K and 50K have distance-specific medals. Shirt availability is limited; registering early is recommended. Refund and transfer policy issues race credit based on cancellation timing; bib transfers require an administration fee and are subject to availability.
