Coyote Trail Run

Coyote Trail Run takes place April 18, 2026 at Cleburne State Park in Cleburne, Texas. The event includes multiple trail distances and uses a common loop for most races.

Distances

  • 50 Mile: six loops of the 8.33 mile course
  • 50K: four loops of the 8.33 mile course
  • 25K: two loops of the 8.33 mile course
  • 8 Mile: one 8.33 mile loop
  • 4 Mile: one modified loop

All races start and finish at the same location. The primary loop is about 8.33 miles and gains roughly 800 to 1,000 feet per loop, with sections of steep climbing and technical terrain. Runners on multiple loops can return to the start/finish aid area in addition to a single on-course aid station per loop.

This is a cupless event and all participants must carry a hydration device such as a bottle or hydration bladder. The aid station supplies include water, electrolyte drink, fruit, sandwiches, snacks, and electrolyte supplements. Pacers are permitted only for 50 mile runners on the final loop.

Participants must have a park day pass, present an annual park pass, or have camping reservations to enter the park for the event. Awards are presented at the finish line for top overall and masters finishers, and all finishers receive a medal; 50K and 25K have distance specific medals. Race shirts are provided and to be guaranteed a preferred size registrants must register two weeks before the race date. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
