The Coyote Trail Run takes place at Cleburne State Park in Cleburne, Texas (5800 Park Rd 21, Cleburne, TX 76033) on April 18, 2026. The event offers multiple distances for runners:

• 50 mile
• 50K
• 25K
• 8 mile
• 4 mile

All races start and finish at the same location. The main loop used by most distances is 8.33 miles long and has between 800 and 1,000 feet of elevation gain per loop. The race formats are: 50 mile = six loops, 50K = four loops, 25K = two loops, 8 mile = one loop, and 4 mile = one modified loop. The trails include steep climbs and technical terrain.

Course operations, aid, and policies

Parking will be near the park entrance and participants must take a shuttle to the start/finish area. All runners must either purchase a park day pass, present an annual park pass, or have camping reservations; park entry is $6 per person for anyone 13 or older and Texas Park Passes cannot be used for this race. Packet pick up is available Friday 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. and Saturday morning 5:00 to 9:30 a.m.

This is a cupless race and all runners must carry a hydration device. A reusable collapsible cup is sold for $5 at packet pick up. Each loop includes a single aid station; aid stations stock water, Gatorade, fruit, sandwiches, snacks, soda and electrolyte products. Pacers are allowed only for 50-mile runners on the final loop. Awards are given to top overall and masters finishers in each main distance, all finishers receive medals, and 25K and 50K have distance-specific medals. Registration and refund policies specify race credit amounts based on cancellation timing and allow bib transfers up to two weeks before the race under specified conditions.
