Chisholm Trail Adventure Race

The Chisholm Trail Adventure Race is scheduled for March 27-28, 2026 in Kopperl, Texas (3351TX, 2169 TX-174, 76652). The event retraces parts of the historic Chisholm Trail and is described as the "Fourth Drive" up the trail. Most of the race activity will be located in the area near Lake Whitney, about 60 minutes south of the Dallas-Fort Worth area. The event is sanctioned by USARA and ARWS.

Events and format

The event program includes two timed adventure races:

  • 24-hour Adventure Race : entry fee $225
  • 12-hour Adventure Race : entry fee $150

Entry fees increase after December 31, 2025 at 11:59pm CST. The race course requires mixed navigation methods: competitors will paddle on the Brazos River, ride mountain bikes, and travel on foot while locating checkpoints. Race maps will be handed out just before the race begins, and competitors are expected to use navigation tools such as compasses. The event lists multiple team and solo categories, including two-person teams, two- or three-person teams by gender, three- or four-person coed teams, masters coed teams, and solo male and solo female divisions.
