Dinosaur Valley Endurance Run

The event is scheduled for November 21-22, 2026 at Dinosaur Valley State Park in Glen Rose, Texas. Registration opens on 12/15/25. The race is organized by The Active Joe.

Distances and course

The event offers multiple race distances:

  • 5 miles
  • 25K
  • 50K
  • 100K
  • 100 miles

The course includes rolling and sustained ascents and descents over varied terrain, with overlooks that provide long views. Runners in the 100-mile event receive a recorded time at the 100K distance.

The race is a Western States Endurance Run qualifier: a 100K qualifier for runners who pass the 100K distance in under 22 hours, and a 100-mile qualifier for those who complete 100 miles in under 35 hours.

Community and support

Organizers have partnered with the park on community needs, including a $4,000 donation to purchase a rescue skid for the park’s EMS ATV. Volunteers are needed for event operations; a volunteer credit program lets volunteers trade accrued credits for future race entries, with credits expiring one year after they are earned.

The event includes a land acknowledgment recognizing the Jumanos, Wichita, Nʉmʉnʉʉ Sookobitʉ (Comanche), and Kiikaapoi (Kickapoo) peoples as traditional stewards of the area. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
