The Dinosaur Valley Endurance Run takes place within Dinosaur Valley State Park in Glen Rose, Texas. The course features a variety of terrain characterized by both rolling and sustained ascents and descents. Participants encounter multiple overlooks across the landscape that provide views extending for several miles.
The event includes a variety of distance options:
- 5 miles
- 25K
- 50K
- 100K
- 100 miles
The race serves as a qualifying event for the Western States Endurance Run. Runners participating in the 100 mile distance receive a recorded time for the 100K mark. Those who complete the 100K distance in under 22 hours earn a qualification for Western States. Additionally, athletes who finish the full 100 mile course in under 35 hours also achieve qualifying status.
The event management implements inclusive policies for various groups, including female athletes, BIPOC athletes, LGBTQIA2S+ individuals, non-binary and transgender athletes, aging athletes, and those with disabilities or impairments. Support is also provided for back-of-the-pack runners, walkers, and hikers. The event operates with a focus on land stewardship through the Running on Native Lands Initiative, acknowledging the historical territories of the Jumanos, Wichita, Comanche, and Kickapoo peoples.
