Camp Classic Trail Run - Camp El Tesoro
The Camp Classic Trail Run takes place March 6-7, 2026 at Camp El Tesoro in Granbury and is the event's seventh annual running. The weekend offers trail distances on natural terrain through woods, prairies, and creek-side paths around the camp.
Distances
- 5K: one lap around Camp El Tesoro.
- 10K: two laps of the same loop.
- Kids 1K Fun Run: for children age 12 and under.
Both the 5K and 10K begin at the same starting line. Mile markers are posted and the route is marked with signs, arrows, and hazard indicators. A water station is located at approximately 1.7 miles: 5K runners pass it once and 10K runners pass it twice. Strollers are not permitted on the trails. Participants park in the camp lot and walk across a swinging bridge to the staging area in front of the Main Lodge.
Weekend options include a Friday night gourmet dinner in the dining hall overlooking Lake Leo and group-style cabin lodging. Cabins are climate controlled, sleep 12, have private restrooms, are accessible, and include a light breakfast for overnight guests.
Chip timing is provided by Race Day Event Services with live results available shortly after finish. Awards are given by gender and age groups and for overall and masters placements. Registration fees differ for pre-race and event day entry and all registration fees are non-refundable and support the camp scholarship fund. First aid responders will be on site at the finish.
