Lone Star Night Run
The Lone Star Night Run takes place at the Weatherford Trailhead of the Lake Mineral Wells State Park Trailway in North Texas. This nighttime event features an out and back course on the Lost Creek Reservoir State Trailway. The running surface consists of soft fine gravel on an open trail. The terrain is relatively flat, characterized by a slight incline on the way out and a downhill section leading back to the finish line.
Participants must use headlamps as the event occurs at night. The event is cupless, meaning athletes carry their own bottles or containers to use at the water refill stations provided. Aid station food and hydration are available, and a food truck is positioned at the finish line. Due to parking restrictions, a shuttle service transports participants from overflow parking at Cartwright Park soccer fields to the start area.
The following distances are available:
- Half Marathon (13.1 miles)
- 10K RUCK (6.24 miles)
- 10K Run (6.24 miles)
- 5K Run (3.12 miles)
Participants in the 10K RUCK must follow specific weight requirements based on body weight, using either a ruck sack or a vest. This event is part of a larger regional series where participants can earn collectible medals by completing multiple races in the circuit. All finishers receive a medal and a t-shirt, while those in the ruck category receive an additional patch. Professional photography and a marked 13 mile course are included in the race experience.
