Corvedale Cake Walk

Corvedale Cake Walk is a Marches LDWA challenge walk set in Shropshire, starting at Holdgate Church near Much Wenlock (TF13 6LW, grid ref SO 562896). Routes climb to Abdon Burf, the highest point in Shropshire, and both routes return via the Jack Mytton Way. The longer route also climbs Wenlock Edge with views toward Mid Wales.

The event offers marked routes over tracks, fields, lanes and hills. Key route points include Clee St Margaret, Munslow Park, Eaton and Wilderhope on the long route; the shorter route crosses to Tugford before returning to Holdgate.

Amenities include hot drinks at the start, refreshments and cakes at control points, and hot dogs at the finish. Parking near the church will be clearly signed. Participants should wear suitable clothing for changeable weather and are asked to bring a mug. No dogs are permitted and under 18s must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. The event is open to walkers and runners. A full route description will be available on the Marches LDWA site.

The event is organised by the Marches LDWA and proceeds will go to Holdgate and Eaton church communities. The event is currently full; new entries will be placed on a waiting list.
