Logistics and rules

Race entry includes a bus ride from Overton to the start, transportation of kit back to the finish and professionally managed road crossings. If ground conditions are unsuitable, an alternative route using about half of the standard course will be used; this alternative route starts roughly 5 miles into the traditional route, uses more of the Wayfarers Walk and does not start at Combe Gibbet. A decision about switching routes will be made no later than one week before the race. Entrants must be able to sustain an average pace of 13 minutes per mile (8 minutes 15 seconds per km) to complete the event within 3 hours 30 minutes. There are two cut-off points: at 8 miles and at 12 miles. Headphones, including bone-conducting types, are not permitted. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
