Combe Gibbet to Overton Race

Event Overview

The Combe Gibbet to Overton Race is a multi-terrain event scheduled for March. The course covers a distance of 16 miles through the countryside of Berkshire and Hampshire. It is categorized as an undulating cross-country race and serves as a preparation event for the spring marathon season. The route typically begins at Combe Gibbet and concludes at the Overton Recreation Centre on Bridge Street in Overton.

Course and Logistics

The event maintains a maximum capacity of 250 entrants. Participants are provided with transportation via a bus from the finish area in Overton to the starting point. Additionally, the organizers provide kit transportation, moving participants' belongings from the start line back to the finish. In the event of unsuitable ground conditions, a backup route utilizing the Wayfarers Walk may be implemented. A final decision regarding the route is made at least one week before the race.

Requirements and Safety

This race is open to individuals aged 18 years and older. For safety reasons, there is a mandatory pace requirement of 13 minutes per mile (8 minutes 15 seconds per kilometer).
