Chupacabra Endurance 10 hour Run
This is a 10 hour endurance running event held at Bluhm County Park in Westville, IN. The course uses a trail loop of about 4–4.1 miles with a small pavement section. The event operates on an hourly lap structure: a clock starts each hour and participants must complete the loop within that hour or they are removed from the race.
Runners receive a limited edition t-shirt and a wooden Chupacabra medal. Timing chips are awarded only after a runner completes four loops. Runners who complete 4, 5, or 6 loops receive red chips; those who complete 7, 8, or 9 loops receive blue chips. Chips can be redeemed at color-coded prize tables; the red table includes shirts, a coffee mug, and items from prior events, while the blue table offers gift cards and free entries for Crazy Legs Race Series events. Final placings are determined by who completes the final loop the fastest.
Support at the start/finish shelter includes space for personal crew stations. Gatorade, water, and snacks are provided at the venue. No human or animal pacers are allowed; violation of this rule results in disqualification. The event references the chupacabra from Latin American folklore, a legendary creature whose name combines the Spanish words chupar and cabra.
