Witches in the Woods 5K/2K
Witches in the Woods is a nighttime run and walk held on October 30, 2026 at the Lake County Fairgrounds, 889 South Court Street, Crown Point, IN 46307. The course runs through trees and along fairgrounds roads; participants are asked to bring flashlights or headlamps for visibility.
Distances offered:
- 5K (3.1 Miles) timed run
- 2K non-timed walk
Event entry includes finisher medals for the first 200 registrants, awards for top overall finishers and the top three in each age group, and prizes for best costumes. The entry also includes free admission to the Hometown Hocus Pocus Market, a market with shopping, live music, food, craft drinks, trick or treating, and performances by the Sanderson Sisters. Strollers are welcome and children under three enter free.
Registration opens on December 2, 2025 and closes on October 30, 2026. Fees listed for the event are $30 for the 5K and $20 for the non-timed 2K and children ages three to twelve; shirts are available for an additional $16 through October 19 with a limited number possibly available after the event. No refunds are offered for weather or other reasons. Registrations cannot be transferred after October 1. Packet pickup and on-site registration are available at the event.
