Tombstone 30k/50k/50 mile

The Tombstone race event takes place on March 13, 2027 at Sunset Hill Farm County Park, Meridian Road, Valparaiso, IN. The event is organized by the Crazy Legs Race Series, which promotes non-pavement and pavement races in Northwest Indiana and stages events in parks or areas in Lake, Porter, and LaPorte counties.

Distances offered:

  • 30k
  • 50k
  • 50 mile

The course includes a section known as the "Roller Coaster" hills. There is one aid station located at the start/finish area. All distances have a 16-hour time limit to complete the course. Race participants receive event items including a limited edition t-shirt, winter hat or gloves, and a cowboy hat. Finish awards vary by distance: 30k finishers receive a hand-made wooden finishing medal, while 50k and 50 mile finishers receive belt buckles.

The organizer provides a land acknowledgement noting the races are held on territory of the Miami, Shawnee, and Illinois Nations, and that refugees from other nations including the Lenape have also resided in the area. The series states it welcomes participation regardless of sexual orientation, biological sex, gender identity, or gender expression, and allows transgender runners to register under the gender they identify with without documentation.
