Frozen Feet 5k Trail Run
The Frozen Feet event is a 5 km trail run held at Creek Ridge County Park, 7943 W 400 N, Michigan City, IN, on January 2, 2027. The course consists of two loops, each containing one hill. Runners should expect natural trail conditions with roots and small branches along the route and are asked to use caution.
All runners receive a one-size-fits-all winter hat and gloves. Timing is conducted using a manual system: participants receive a popsicle stick when they finish and are asked to return the stick immediately. There is no formal awards ceremony; overall winners and the top three in each age group receive medals when they turn in their stick. Snacks, water, and Powerade are available at the outdoor shelter after finishing.
The event is organized as part of the Crazy Legs Race Series, which promotes non-pavement and pavement races in the Northwest Indiana region and hosts events in parks across Lake, Porter, and LaPorte counties. The series states an inclusive registration policy allowing participants to register as the gender they identify with without documentation. The organizers acknowledge the land as the seized territory of the Miami, Shawnee, and Illinois Nations and note historical presence of Lenape peoples.
