Frozen Feet 5k Trail Run
The Frozen Feet event is a trail run held on January 2, 2027, at Creek Ridge County Park, 7943 W 400 N, Michigan City, IN 46360. The advertised distance is 5 km on a natural surface course.
The course consists of two loops, with one hill on each loop. The route includes roots and small branches; runners are asked to exercise caution. Packets are distributed at the outdoor shelter near the start area.
Timing uses an old school method: finishers receive a popsicle stick and must turn it in. There will be no formal awards ceremony; overall winners and the top three in each age group receive medals when they turn in their sticks. After finishing, snacks, water, and Powerade are available at the outdoor shelter.
Old race shirts and hats will be sold for $5. Registration fees listed for the trail run are $23.39 for the early period and $28.74 for the later period.
The event is part of the Crazy Legs Race Series, which supports non-pavement and pavement races in Northwest Indiana and holds events in parks across Lake, Porter, and Laporte counties. The series states it welcomes participation regardless of sexual orientation, biological sex, gender identity, or gender expression, and allows transgender runners to register under the gender they identify with without documentation.
