Cereal Killer Trail Run

Cereal Killer 15k Trail Run

The Cereal Killer event is a 15k trail run held at Red Mill County Park, 0185 S Holmesville Road, La Porte, IN 46350. The course is marked with flags and signs and is completed by running four loops to reach the total distance. Runners are asked to follow course markings rather than relying on the runner ahead.

Race day sign-ups, packet pick-up, and bathrooms are located in the Smith Banquet building, the park's only building. Timing is handled manually: finishers receive a numbered popsicle stick and must return that stick to the building where they got their packet as soon as possible.

All registered runners will receive a limited-edition long sleeve shirt; if shirts sell out, participants will receive a winter hat and gloves instead. After the race, a variety of breakfast cereals will be available with 2% milk, almond milk, and non-dairy milk, and Deathwish Coffee will be brewing. Awards for overall female and male winners and for age groups are presented after the field has finished.

Items from the organizer's other races will be offered for sale for $5, including t-shirts, hats, and coffee cups. The event is organized by the Crazy Legs Race Series, which promotes non-pavement and pavement races in Northwest Indiana and holds events in parks across Lake, Porter, and Laporte counties. The organizer acknowledges the Indigenous nations who have stewarded the land used for the races. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
