Calderglen Harriers Trail Running Festival

The Calderglen Harriers Trail Running Festival takes place on Friday 26 June 2026 within Calderglen Country Park, East Kilbride. The event features a range of short trail races for different ages, chip timing, and an after-race buffet at the East Kilbride Sports Club.

Distances offered include:

  • 10k trail through Calderglen Country Park and towards Langlands Moss.
  • 5k fast and flowing loop entirely within Calderglen Country Park.
  • 3k memorial trail race through the park trails.
  • 1k trail race for younger runners within the park.
  • Toddler Dash free, no pre-entry required.

Races are held under UK Athletics rules and carry a Scottish Athletics permit. Entry is online only, except the free Toddler Dash which does not require pre-entry. Chip timing is provided by ProTay Timing and first aid is supplied by St Andrews Volunteers. The course is fully marshalled; all competitors must follow marshal instructions. The route is suitable for trail or road shoes, spikes are not permitted, and running with dogs is prohibited. The event is not suitable for wheelchair athletes.

Race numbers must be collected on the day at East Kilbride Sports Club within the park. Entries are non-refundable and close at midnight on 25 June or earlier if capacity is reached. One pound from each 5k and 10k entry will be donated to Blood Cancer UK. Finishers medals are awarded for the 1k and 3k races; there are no T-shirts or medals for the 5k and 10k. Trail runs nearby

A 12 hour ultra on a roughly 4 km loop at Dean Castle Country Park with both solo and team relay options, chip timing, a medal, and on site facilities.

Trail running from 5 km to 52.8 km around Airthrey Castle and the Ochil Hills with marked courses, aid outposts and mandatory kit for longer routes.

Three distances around Balloch Castle Country Park and Loch Lomond with chip timing, measured courses, finishers medals, hydration stations and free race photos. Age limits apply for 5k and 10k and on the day entries are usually available.

A 33 km hill race across the Ochil Hills with summit controls, mandatory mountain kit and bus transfer to the remote start.
