The event is organized as a run/walk that goes to the end of Bateman Island and back using the island causeway for pedestrian access. The trail on Bateman Island is dirt with some rocks. The US Army Corps of Engineers has plans to remove the causeway that provides pedestrian access to Bateman Island, which is why access to the island may be eliminated in the near future.
