Badger Mountain Challenge in Richland, WA
The Badger Mountain Challenge is a multi-event trail running and rucking weekend held at Badger Mountain Preserve in Richland, Washington. The preserve includes local ridges and views of the Columbia Basin and is described as a popular area for hiking and trail running in the Tri-Cities region. The event is organized by Nomad Trail Runners.
Multiple competitive and noncompetitive options are offered across two days in March, including foot races and ruck divisions. The event includes a double entry option that pairs a 50 mile race and a 55K race as a single race category with a unique prize for finishers who complete both events. All entrants can receive post-race food.
Ruck division rules require competitors to carry a backpack weighing between 20 and 30 pounds, not counting water or food used during the race. All ruck division finishers receive a custom Badger rucking patch. Volunteers are invited to support the event; volunteers receive a free event shirt and either a free entry to a future 15 kilometer race at the event or a discounted fee for longer distances.
