Badger Mountain Challenge - Richland, WA
The Badger Mountain Challenge is a multi-distance trail event held at Badger Mountain Preserve in Richland, WA. The preserve was established in 2005 to keep open spaces available for local outdoor recreation. The event is held over two days, with some races on the first day and others on the second.
There are seven event options and a combined double entry. The organizer notes a modest entry fee increase, and offers early bird pricing in December that preserves the previous year's rates. Registration opens Mon. Nov 30, 2026.
The race program includes separate ruck divisions. Ruck entrants must carry a backpack weighing between 20 and 30 pounds, not counting water or food used during the race. Ruck finishers receive a custom Badger rucking patch. All entrants are offered post-race food after finishing.
Volunteer roles are part of the event. Volunteers receive a free shirt with the race logo and either a free entry to a future 15 km Badger Mountain Challenge or a discounted fee for longer distances. The organizer provides an option to enter a 50 mile and 55 km double category; finishers of both events are eligible for a unique prize.
