Event Overview
Run With the Goats is a 50-kilometer trail running event held on the single-track trails in Reata Canyon, Kennewick, Washington. The event features three separate participant categories: "Beers," "Lights," and "Sobers."
Course and Format
The race consists of seven laps, each approximately 4.5 miles long. The full 50K distance involves about 4,280 feet of total climbing. The start and finish area is located on private property.
Category Rules
Participants in the "Beers" category must drink a 16-ounce beer before starting each lap. Those in the "Lights" category must drink a 12-ounce beer before each lap. Runners in the "Sobers" category drink 12 ounces of a non-alcoholic fizzy beverage before each lap. Only participants who complete all seven laps and the corresponding drink before each lap receive an official finish; all others are recorded as Did Not Finish (DNF).
Additional Information
The event is capped at 50 entrants, with a waitlist. All entrants receive a custom pint glass. A potluck meal is organized, and participants are encouraged to bring food to share. The official beer supplier is Side A Brewing from LaGrande, Oregon. Participants in the "Beer" and "Light" categories must arrange for a sober ride home.
