Sole Survivor Backyard Ultra - Richland, WA

Richland, United States • 5 Sep 2025

The Sole Survivor Backyard Ultra in Richland, Washington, is a unique endurance trail running event inspired by Big's Backyard Ultra. Held at 1200 Carrier Rd., the race challenges participants to complete a 4.1667-mile loop every hour on the hour until only one runner remains. The course features mostly flat single-track trails with about 40 feet of elevation gain per loop, including a short paved section and a brief steep climb.

Runners can rest between loops but must start each on time. Aid is available at the start/finish, and a BBQ is held at dusk. Those reaching 100 miles earn a custom belt buckle.

The event fosters camaraderie and toughness over speed. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
