Laliik Trail Races
The Laliik Trail Races take place on Saturday March 7, 2026 at the Rattlesnake Mountain Recreation Preserve Trailhead near Benton City, Washington. The event offers multiple trail options and serves as a fundraiser for the Winter Mountain Running Series and the Rattlesnake Slope Preserve.
Race distances:
- 6 Hour
- 10 Mile
- 11K
- 5K
Registration has tiered pricing with lower rates before January 1 and higher rates afterward. Pre-registration closes February 26. The 10 Mile pre-registration includes a T-shirt; for the 6 Hour, 11K and 5K a T-shirt is available for an additional fee. No day of registration is available for the 6 Hour event. Packet pickup is available the day before in Richland and at the trailhead on race day.
Course notes describe trail terrain and climb amounts. The 5K is an out and back with about 450 feet of gain. The 11K is a loop that includes a steep section called the Mountain Goat Challenge with a 700 foot ascent over a short distance and roughly 1,400 feet of total climb. The 10 Mile also features about 1,400 feet of climbing and is described as runnable. The 6 Hour format uses the 11K loop repeated for multiple laps.
Logistics mention parking at the trailhead off Hwy 225, overflow parking on the shoulder, and some highway traffic when walking to the start. The event is cupless so participants must provide their own water bottle. All participants receive a finisher glass, overall awards are given to top three male and female finishers, and a cash bonus is available for new course records. Runners of the Sage maintain the trails involved and run this series as a fundraiser. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
