Laliik Trail Races, March 6, 2027
The Laliik Trail Races take place at the Rattlesnake Mountain Recreation Preserve Trailhead near Benton City, WA. The event features multiple trail distances and a timed six-hour loop, and is organized by Runners of the Sage as a fundraiser for the Winter Mountain Running Series and the Rattlesnake Slope Preserve.
Distances offered:
- 5K : out-and-back on Aster Gully with about 450 ft of gain
- 11K : uphill then downhill loop with a steep section called the Mountain Goat Challenge
- 10 Mile : a trail through the Rattlesnake Slope Preserve with about 1400 ft of climbing
- 6 Hour : repeated laps of the 11K course, each loop about 6.5 miles with roughly 1400 ft gain
Registration opens October 1, 2026 at 12:00 AM PT. Early prices apply through December 31, with a price increase January 1. Pre-registration closes Thursday February 26. There is no day-of registration for the six-hour event. Packet pickup is available the day before at the Tri-Cities Food Co-op in Richland and at the trailhead on race day.
This is a cupless event; participants must carry their own bottles. Aid is available at the start for each loop. T-shirts are included with 10 Mile pre-registration; other distances may purchase shirts for an extra fee. All finishers receive a finisher glass; a cash prize is offered for new course records. Parking is at the trailhead with overflow on the shoulder of Highway 225. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
