The Big Cross Frozen Tundra
The Big Cross Frozen Tundra is a wintertime cross country event held on January 30, 2027 at the Big Cross cross country course in Pasco, Washington.
Distances include:
- 2.5 Mile Run/Walk
- 5 Mile Run
The course is 2.5 miles long on woodchip, dirt, and gravel trails. Participants in the 5 Mile Run complete two circuits of the course. Each race accepts up to 120 participants. The registration fee is $20. Registration opens September 1, 2026 and closes January 1, 2027. In-person registration is available at the Recreation Services offices in Pasco City Hall until January 29, 2027.
Team entries and team uniforms are encouraged for atmosphere and camaraderie; team scores will not be tracked. During registration, participants may choose to donate to benefit local high school cross country programs. All participants will receive a race logo runners belt. Finisher ribbons will be awarded to the top 10 male and top 10 female finishers in the 5 Mile Run.
Spectators must use designated viewing areas, stay out of the start and finish area, and avoid crossing the race path while runners are visible on the course. Volunteers are needed for set-up, course monitoring, and start/finish duties. Runners, spectators, and volunteers should stay home if sick.
