Course, logistics and services
Courses use rolling desert single track and old jeep trail sections. The longer distances are built from multiples of the Pemberton Trail Loop, with about 800 feet of elevation gain and loss per 25K loop. Loops are run in a clockwise direction; the 7K and 15K use a hilly Scenic Trail option. Courses are marked with orange ribbons with black polka dots, reflective medallions, laminated signs, and blue and white checkerboard flagging for wrong-way trails.
Aid is provided at a fully stocked start/finish station and at a remote Granite Tank aid station. Aid supplies include water, ice, electrolyte drinks, salty and sweet snacks, fruit, pb&j, bean rollups, and hot food options. This is a cupless race, so runners should bring a reusable cup or purchase one on site. Drop bags and crew access are available at the start/finish; crews are allowed at the start/finish and pacers are permitted only for the 75K beginning with the third loop. Medical staff will be based at the start/finish headquarters. Parking for the longer distances is at the Pemberton Trailhead; shorter distances park at the Four Peaks staging area with a shuttle service. A park entry fee of $7 per vehicle applies. Volunteers receive race swag and race credits. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
