PhoMo 50K : Event overview

PhoMo 50K is a trail ultramarathon held in the Phoenix Mountain Preserves, starting and finishing at the Piestewa Peak Cholla Trailhead (5992 Piestewa Peak Dr, Phoenix, AZ). The event is limited to 50 runners. The race distance is 31.2 miles / 50 km with about 6,000' of elevation gain and loss. Registration closes October 31, 2025, and the event takes place rain or shine with no refunds or credits. All entrants receive event swag; a commemorative BOCO hat is available for those who register by October 20, 2025.

Course and logistics

The course is unmarked; GPX coordinates are provided for upload to watches or smartphones. Trails are rocky and often technical with very minimal shade. Aid stations are planned at Miles 9.9 and 26.2 at Dreamy Draw Trailhead ramada areas. Water fountains and restrooms are available at 40th St Trailhead, Dreamy Draw Trailhead, North Mountain Visitor Center, and Piestewa Peak Drive. Participants should carry their own food and fluids and are advised to use a hydration vest with ample capacity. Crew access is allowed at accessible trailheads and pacers are permitted from the first pass through Dreamy Draw. Runners will be manually timed and must check in with an aid station volunteer at Dreamy Draw on both passes. Free parking is available at the trailhead.
