Insomniac Night Trail Run Series
The Insomniac Night Trail Run Series comprises six night trail races held in Maricopa County parks from April through September. Events are staged at San Tan Mountain Regional Park in Queen Creek, McDowell Mountain Regional Park in Fountain Hills (two dates), Estrella Mountain Competitive Track in Tolleson, Usery Mountain Regional Park in Mesa, and White Tank Mountain Regional Park in Waddell.
Distances for individual events range from 5 kilometers to 75 kilometers. Each event offers multiple distance options so runners can choose shorter or longer courses on the same night.
Series registration includes several pass options (Jitters, Wingsuit, Vigil, Delirium, Evolution). A Summer Night Series Pass provides a 20% registration discount. Passes assign runners to distance categories and to a points series that counts a runner's best three scores from the six races. Within each pass the race winner receives 1000 points; other runners receive a percentage of 1000 based on the ratio of the winner's time to their time.
Series awards include an Aravaipa race entry for the first place series winner up to the pass distance, a $30 race credit for second place, and a $15 race credit for third place. Evolution Pass contestants must complete five of the six races including the Javelina Jangover 50K to be eligible for top three series prizes. Pass registrations are nonrefundable for missed races.
