Sinister Night Runs takes place on Saturday, April 25, 2026 at San Tan Mountain Regional Park in Queen Creek, Arizona. It is part of the 2026 Insomniac Night Trail Run Series. The event is held at night on a 9 kilometer loop that uses the San Tan, Hedgehog and Littleleaf Trails. All laps are run counter-clockwise.
Distances and format
- 54K - six 9 km loops (34.3 miles; 3,179 feet total elevation gain)
- 27K - three loops (17.12 miles; 1,588 feet gain)
- 18K - two loops (11.4 miles; 1,058 feet gain)
- 9K - one 9 km loop (5.71 miles; 529 feet gain)
- 6K - single lap (3.7 miles; 291 feet gain)
Pacers are allowed only for 54K runners, beginning on loop 5 (around 36K). Crews are allowed at the start/finish area. A designated drop bag area is available at the start/finish.
Course support and logistics
One remote aid station (San Tan Aid) is located on the loop and will be passed each lap. The main aid station is stocked with water, ice, electrolyte drinks, salty and sweet snacks, fruit, pb&j, bean rollups and hot food options such as quesadillas and grilled cheese. Races are chip timed and include finish line photos, an Artworx finisher award and podiums for the top three male and female finishers. Live split tracking is provided.
Park rules note a vehicle entry fee and no on-course pets; camping is not permitted. The event is cupless; reusable cups are available for purchase. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
