Sinister Night Runs is a night trail running event at San Tan Mountain Regional Park in Queen Creek, AZ. Course and logistics
The main loop is approximately 9 km. The 54K is six loops, the 27K is three loops, the 18K is two loops, and the 9K and 6K are single laps (the 6K uses a shortened route). There is one remote aid station (San Tan Aid) passed each loop; the main aid is stocked with water, ice, electrolyte drinks, savory and sweet snacks, fruit, pb&j, bean rollups, and hot food options. Crews are allowed at the start/finish area; pacers are permitted only for 54K runners beginning on loop 5. Drop bag storage is available at the start/finish. Time limits are specified per distance (for example, the 54K has a 10 hour limit). Courses are marked with orange ribbons with black polka dots, reflective medallions, laminated junction signs, and blue-and-white flagging for wrong-way trails. Parking requires a park entry fee; pets are not allowed on-course; camping is not permitted. The event is cupless and offers live split tracking. Volunteers receive race credits and event swag.
