Sinister Night Runs

Sinister Night Runs takes place Saturday, April 25, 2026 at San Tan Mountain Regional Park in Queen Creek, Arizona. The event is part of the 2026 Insomniac Night Trail Run Series and uses a repeated loop format on local trails.

All races run counter-clockwise on a nine kilometer loop that uses the San Tan, Hedgehog and Littleleaf Trails. The trails are described as smooth and runnable with a few rollers and rocks. The 54K ultra passes the start/finish after each lap.

There is one full remote aid station on course that runners pass on every loop and a main aid area stocked with water, ice, electrolyte drinks, salty and sweet snacks, fruit, peanut butter and jelly, bean rollups and hot food such as quesadillas and grilled cheese. Crews are allowed at the start/finish. Pacers are permitted only for the 54K, beginning on loop five. A drop bag area is provided at the start/finish.

Courses are marked with orange plastic ribbons with black polka dots, reflective medallions and laminated signs. Medical staff are based at the start/finish and may remove participants for safety. Event details note warmer evening conditions that cool overnight, a $7 park entry fee per vehicle, no on-course pets, no camping and a cupless policy with reusable cups available for purchase. Race timing, finish photos, a race goody and finisher awards are listed among event provisions. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
