The Angry Tortoise trail run takes place in Bryceville, Florida, in Cary State Forest near Jacksonville. The event marks the 14th anniversary in 2027 and offers trail running on forest roads from a start/finish area at 7465 Pavilion Rd.

The course is described as flatwoods on forest roads and includes well-supported aid stations. Both distances have a generous eight hour cut-off. Participants receive a race shirt and finisher awards when applicable. Overall awards are given to first, second and third male and female finishers. Age-group awards include first male and female masters (40 to 49), grandmasters (50 to 69) and senior grandmasters (70 and over) in both the 25K and 50K races. A postrace lunch is provided and Cary State Forest offers a free hot shower in the male and female restroom near the start/finish area. Proceeds from the event support the Florida Striders Kids Running Programs. The organizer provides a course map and a race video for reference. Trail runs nearby

Timed 3, 6, 9 and 12 hour events on July 18, 2026 at Cecil Field in Jacksonville, FL. The race uses a flat 1.25 mile paved loop through pine trees and includes a 4 person relay option for the 6 hour.

A five hour out and back on Section 4 of the Pioneer Trail in Middleburg, FL with technical single track, switchbacks and creek overlooks. Limited to about 40 participants and cupless with basic aid at the halfway point.

A trail event on the Sandridge Trail with a 2.75 mile loop offering 9K plus 3, 6, and 12 hour timeframes and ruck options. Aid stations are cupless and a portion of proceeds support local recovery nonprofits.

A community 5K, 10K and one-mile run/walk on the Emerald Trail in Jacksonville supporting Groundwork Jacksonville. Courses use the LaVilla Link and S-Line Rail Trail and include chip timing, custom shirts and finisher medals.
