Angry Tortoise 25K/50K - February 21, 2026

The Angry Tortoise is a trail running event held in the flatwoods of Cary State Forest on the outskirts of Jacksonville, with the venue listed at 7465 Pavilion Rd, Bryceville, FL. The event marks the 13th anniversary of the race in 2026 and offers two distance options.

  • 25K on forest roads and trails
  • 50K on forest roads and trails

Both distances use a flat course on forest roads and include well-supported aid stations. Organizers allow a generous eight-hour cut-off for each race. The event provides race shirts (not guaranteed for registrations made after 12:00pm on February 1, 2026) and finisher awards. Overall awards are given to first, second, and third place male and female finishers, plus age-category awards: masters (40-49), grandmasters (50-69), and senior grandmasters (70 and over) for both distances.

Cary State Forest offers a free hot shower in the male and female restrooms near the start and finish area. The event serves lunch to runners after the race. Proceeds support the Florida Striders Kids' Running Programs. Registration closes on February 22, 2026 at 11:59PM ET. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
