S.O.S. - Middleburg, FL

S.O.S. is an outdoor timed running and rucking event organized by Sombrero Running in Jennings State Forest on the Sandridge Trail in Middleburg, Florida. The event uses an approximately 2.75 mile loop for all distances and timeframes. There is vehicle access at the venue and ample room for canopies and tents.

There will be a primary aid station at the start and finish area offering standard ultra race fare, Skratch electrolytes and pickle juice, plus post-race treats. A second aid point will be a hydration-only station located at about 1 to 1.25 miles on the loop. The event is cupless, so participants must bring their own handheld bottle, hydration vest with bladder or collapsible cup for refill at aid stations. Volunteers will sanitize hydration igloos and assist at aid stations.

The event highlights National Recovery Month and mental health issues. A portion of proceeds will go to local recovery-related entities, including the Sombrero Outreach Foundation, a 501c3, and Foundations of Freedom, a Jax residential sober living facility that is a 501c3. Registration closes on September 11, 2026. There are no refunds for this event.
