Emerald Trail 5K, 10K and One Mile

The 6th Annual VyStar Emerald Trail event, presented by JTC Running and 1st Place Sports, offers organized running and walking distances along the newly opened LaVilla Link and the S-Line Rail Trail of the Emerald Trail. All proceeds from the event benefit Groundwork Jacksonville, the city nonprofit partner in building the Emerald Trail and restoring McCoys Creek and Hogans Creek.

When complete, the Emerald Trail will be a 34-mile urban trail and linear park system connecting 14 historic neighborhoods to downtown, the St. Johns River, McCoys Creek and Hogans Creek. The trail is planned to link 16 schools, two colleges, three hospitals, 21 parks and the Regional Transportation Center to local destinations.

Event features include:

  • 5K
  • 10K
  • One mile

Participants receive custom-designed Emerald Trail shirts and custom finisher medals. The event uses chip timing and provides live results, plus pre and post-race activities. JTC Running underwrites event expenses so that entry fees and sponsorships support Groundwork Jacksonville.

Packet pickup is offered at designated 1st Place Sports locations, and unclaimed packets will be available at the race site on race day. Awards are planned for overall and age-group finishers in the 5K and 10K, with separate masters categories in the 10K. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
