Emerald Trail

VyStar Emerald Trail 5K Run/Walk and 10K Run : 7th Annual

The event offers running and walking on sections of the newly opened LaVilla Link and the S Line Rail Trail of the Emerald Trail. It is presented by JTC Running and 1st Place Sports, with VyStar as title sponsor. All proceeds benefit Groundwork Jacksonville, the city nonprofit partner that is building the Emerald Trail and restoring McCoys Creek and Hogans Creek.

Distances offered include:

• 10K Run
• 5K Run/Walk
• One mile

The 5K and 10K share the same initial route; the 5K returns at the corner of Blanche and Union while the 10K continues to Boulevard Street before returning to the common finish. The one mile follows a separate short course that finishes at the start/finish area.

Event features include custom Emerald Trail shirts for entrants, custom finisher medals for all finishers, chip timing, live results, and pre and post event activities. JTC Running covers event expenses so entry fees and sponsorships support Groundwork Jacksonville. Award categories are organized by overall places, masters, and multiple age divisions for both the 5K and 10K.

Packet pickup is scheduled the Friday before the event at two 1st Place Sports locations; unclaimed packets will be available at the race site on race day. Parking is available at LaVilla School of the Arts and LaVilla Partners west lot, with free street parking on Saturdays. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
