Emerald Trail

VyStar Emerald Trail 5K and 10K Run/Walk

The VyStar Emerald Trail event, presented by JTC Running and 1st Place Sports, features community 5K and 10K run/walk options plus a one-mile event. Courses use the newly opened LaVilla Link and the S-Line Rail Trail segment of the Emerald Trail. All proceeds benefit Groundwork Jacksonville, the nonprofit partner building the Emerald Trail and restoring McCoys Creek and Hogans Creek.

When complete the Emerald Trail will be a 34-mile urban trail and linear park connecting 14 historic neighborhoods to downtown, the St. Johns River, McCoys Creek and Hogans Creek. The trail will link schools, colleges, hospitals, parks and the Regional Transportation Center to local destinations.

Event features include custom Emerald Trail shirts for entrants, custom finisher medals, chip timing with live results, and pre- and post-race activities. JTC Running underwrites event expenses so that entry fees and sponsorships support Groundwork Jacksonville. The 5K and 10K share most of the course until the corner of Blanche and Union; the 10K continues on the S-Line to a turnaround at Boulevard Street before returning to the same finish. The one-mile course starts at Lee and Church and finishes at the start/finish inflatable on Church Street.

Registration follows tiered pricing and the event policy states there are no refunds or transfers. Packet pickup is available the day before at two 1st Place Sports locations. Parking options include LaVilla School of the Arts and LaVilla Partners west lot, with free street parking on Saturdays. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
