Sombrero Ultra Running Festival (SURF) is an ultrarunning event held at the Clay County Regional Sports Complex in Middleburg, FL. The festival offers multiple timed events and relay options over a multi-day weekend and includes a runner village with space for canopies, tents, crew areas, and RV parking.
Available race durations include:
- 3 hour events
- 6 hour event
- 12 hour day and 12 hour night events
- 24 hour event and 24 hour relay
- 48 hour event and 48 hour relay
The course uses a short loop with a single aid station near the start/finish area that participants pass twice each loop. This is a cupless race; runners must bring their own bottles, hydration vests, bladders, or collapsible cups. Aid station supplies include water, Skratch electrolytes, soda, fruit, hot food options and other standard ultra fare.
Onsite services and logistics noted by the organizer include medical personnel present for the full 48 hour period, footcare support, a personal chef providing hot food at a midway grilling area, music from an event vendor, and a race guide and course map. Pacers are permitted only for the 24 hour and 48 hour events after a set time threshold and must register with race staff. There are no refunds for this event.
