Sombrero Ultra Running Festival (SURF)
Sombrero Ultra Running Festival is a timed ultrarunning event held at the Clay County Regional Sports Complex in Middleburg, FL. The festival offers multiple timed race options, relay formats, a runner village for tents and crews, vendor presence, on-site food service, and event apparel.
Available race durations include:
- 3 hour individual events
- 6 hour individual event
- 12 hour day event
- 12 hour night event
- 24 hour individual and relay events
- 48 hour individual and relay events
The course uses a short loop with a single aid station located at the start/finish area that participants pass twice each lap. The race is cupless; runners must bring their own bottles, hydration vests with bladders, or collapsible cups. Aid station supplies include water, electrolyte drink, hot food, snacks, and a variety of common race fare.
Organizers provide on-site medical personnel for the full 48 hour period and are arranging footcare and physical therapy services. A runner village accommodates canopies and RVs; RVs are allowed without hookups and an on-site fee applies. Custom technical shirts are offered and to guarantee a shirt entrants must be registered by January 23. Entry fees vary across options and refunds are not available.
